The club ladder exists to allow players to challenge each other, thereby improving their position in the club rankings.
Until the ladder is loaded onto the system it will exist here. *Ladder will be updated after Club Champs
RULES:
Each player has a maximum of 5 challenges for the year. If you win your challenges, you keep your challenges and if you lose your challenges, then this will be deducted from total challenges available for the year
Both players must agree if they want a match to be referred or not and this must be organised between the two players themselves
A Special Summer Challenge Period in January and a Winter Challenge Period in August will be available to all players. A player will be allowed to challenge any player above them only during this period. If you win, you take their position, and everyone below moves down one place.
If the Challenger lose the challenge, they stay where they are. If the member that gets challenged lose their challenge, they move down one ranking and the Challenger takes their position.
After the Summer or Winter challenge periods, players are allowed to challenge up to 3 positions above their current position on the log.
A challenger must propose a date and time for the challenge.
A challenged player cannot decline a challenge. If the challenge is declined the higher placed player forfeits his/her position on the log.
A challenged player can propose another time. A challenge must be completed within 2 weeks of the challenge being made.
Once a challenge is complete, the same players cannot challenge each other for 2 weeks after the match completion.
All new members automatically get added to the bottom of the club ladder.
New members get 2 free challenges where they can challenge any player on the log. Losing both challenges will place them at the bottom of the log.
If a player is challenged, the player cannot accept or organise any other challenge until the first challenge is complete.
Every member needs to play in at least one of the two official ranking tournaments in a year to retain their club ranking. These tournaments are the in-house leagues and the club championships.
Failure to play in either of these will result in the players ladder position being suspended until the player plays in the next ranking tournament or challenges anyone below his suspended ladder position.
The club ladder will provide the basis for all internal league teams to be selected.
Changes on the live ladder during a League won’t change your position in the League, only in the league thereafter.
All players must notify chairman@albertonsquash.co.za with challenge results. If this is not done, the ladder is not updated and the challenge void.
All disputes to be addressed to chairman@albertonsquash.co.za. The decision on disputes is made by the committee and is final.
Ask any of the committee members if you are unclear about the rules for the Live Ladder.
Rules of the challenge system can change at any time by the committee, as we conduct trial and error and will constantly develop the rules going forward.
